Inventory Planner

You like to dive into the numbers and but also thrive in communicating the stories the data tells. As the inventory expert and key intermediary between supply chain and sales, this analytical role is a hub for product availability information and troubleshooting inventory inquiries. The successful candidate will be planning inventory movements to support fulfillment targets, and have the following responsibilities:
What we are looking for
Inventory Planning and Analysis:
- Take ownership of inventory allocation across all sales channels and DCs based on the current established supply and demand schedule.
- Be the liaison between sales and supply chain, responding to queries regarding inventory.
- Monitor and replenish DCs inventory and work to mitigate over-capacity and stock out issues.
- Manage weekly inventory replenishment for all retail stores based on planogram. Provide suggestions and strategies to improve store in-stock level.
- Monitor and track product status as it goes through the lifecycle from new product launch to discontinuation.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis on inventory regarding changes to supply or demand plan.
- Investigate data discrepancies and root causes, to offer process improvements
- Maintain projections on inventory movement and levels to identify gaps against desire inventory level
- Create transfers between DCs and Retail stores. Work with Operations to monitor and track these orders.
- Work with Purchasing to identify gaps in supply against the demand schedule and follow up with the group to ensure on-time delivery.
Reporting and Communication:
- Lead the communication across different sales channels on all matters related to inventory to ensure each channel is aware of inventory position against demand.
- Provide clear and timely communication on issues and concerns over inventory and supply.
- Provide and present regular reports on inventory levels, movements, and projections.
- Follows up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders.
Based out of Vancouver and reporting into the Planning Manager, the right candidate will:
- Have strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically
- Be highly organized and able to successfully manage processes across teams and projects while maintaining a sharp focus on high priority projects
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and explain complex information clearly and concisely to varied audience
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in math, economics, statistics, business management or equivalent
- 2+ years in a similar role scaling similar brands, B2B & DTC experience preferred
